Glens Hit Double Figures in Pre-Season Victory

Glentoran turned on the style at the BetMcLean Oval, recording an emphatic 11-0 win over JRC Academy in their latest pre-season outing.

After a dominant but measured first-half display, goals from Danny Amos and new signing Daniel Larmour had the Glens 2-0 up at the break. Pat Hoban made his first appearance for the club and impressed with his link-up play alongside Nathaniel Ferris, though there was concern as Frankie Hvid was forced off with a knock before the interval.

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of highly regarded centre-back Daniel Larmour from Crusaders for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old defender has signed a three-year deal at the BetMcLean Oval, becoming Glentoran’s fourth signing of the summer ahead of the 2025/26 Sports Direct Premiership campaign.

Larmour’s arrival follows the high-profile additions of influential Scottish midfielder Liam Burt, returning academy graduate Jordan Stewart and prolific League of Ireland striker Pat Hoban.

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of prolific striker Pat Hoban from League of Ireland side Derry City for an undisclosed fee.

The 33-year-old forward, widely regarded as one of the most consistent goalscorers in the League of Ireland over the past decade, has signed a two-year contract at the BetMcLean Oval.

Hoban arrives at the BetMcLean Oval with an outstanding goalscoring pedigree, having netted over 200 senior career goals during spells with Mervue United, Dundalk, Oxford United, Mansfield Town and, most recently, Derry City.

Harry Murphy signs for Glenavon

Glentoran Football Club can confirm that defender Harry Murphy has completed a transfer to Glenavon Football Club for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old joined Glentoran from Portadown in 2022 and made 22 senior appearances during his time at The BetMcLean Oval.

He spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Glenavon, making 12 appearances for the Lurgan Blues.

A former captain of Glentoran Seconds, Murphy overcame a serious knee injury to return to first-team contention at Glentoran in October 2023.

As part of the agreement, the Bangor-based design and build specialists have delivered a complete, bespoke fit-out of Glentoran’s newly refurbished executive office suite at The BetMcLean Oval which now serves as the club’s new operational hub.

Glentoran Women produced a dominant performance at Solitude on Tuesday evening to secure a deserved 2-0 victory over Cliftonville Ladies and move to the top of the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership.

Goals from captain Jessica Foy and winger Demi Vance either side of the break sealed a sixth straight league win for Kim Turner’s side to maintain their perfect start to the league campaign.

Coming into the game off the back of a frustrating exit from the All-Island Cup and the League Cup final defeat to the Reds, Glentoran arrived in North Belfast with a point to prove.

Weatherup signs first professional contract

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to announce that highly-rated forward Cal Weatherup has signed his first professional contract, committing his future to the club until the end of the 2025/26 season.

A graduate of the Glentoran Academy and a current member of the club’s Elite Scholarship Programme, the 17-year-old played a key role in the Under-16 squad that won the 2023/24 NIFL Academy League title. Last season, he helped the Colts lift the Harry Cavan Youth Cup in 2024/25 - Glentoran’s first triumph in the competition in 30 years.

Rogers-Duffy signs first professional contract

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to announce that highly-rated defender Ciaran Rogers-Duffy has signed his first professional contract, committing his future to the club until the end of the 2026/27 season.

A product of the Glentoran Academy and the club’s Elite Scholarship Programme, the commanding 18-year-old centre-back enjoyed an exceptional 2024/25 season, captaining both the Colts and Reserves.

Glentoran Select XI fall to Dundonald

A youthful Glentoran Select XI was narrowly beaten 2-1 by Dundonald FC on Saturday afternoon at the Billy Neil Centre of Excellence in the Carol Preston Memorial Cup.

The match was held in support of the Friends of the Cancer Centre, with Glentoran fielding a squad made up of Reserve and Colts players, including several who featured in Friday night’s 1-0 win over East Belfast.

Dundonald opened the scoring in the first half before James McClure brought the Glens level shortly after the break with a well-taken finish.
