Glentoran confirms departure of academy graduate Theo McToal

Glentoran can confirm that Theo McToal has departed the club after the expiration of his contract.

An Academy graduate and product of our youth system, Theo signed his first professional deal with the Glens in July 2023 after impressing throughout his time with the club’s underage sides.

A composed and hard-working full-back, Theo progressed through the ranks to earn his senior debut in March 2024. He came off the bench in our home victory over Ballymena United, before featuring again in our away fixture at Cliftonville the following month.

Glentoran Women produced a ruthless first-half display to secure an impressive 4-1 victory over Waterford Women's FC at the RSC in their second All-Island Cup group stage fixture.

Kim Turner’s side took full advantage of the swirling conditions in a dominant opening spell, scoring four times before the half-hour mark to take firm control of the contest.

Kascie Weir named Women’s Young Player of the Year

Glentoran Women striker Kascie Weir has been named the inaugural Women’s Young Player of the Year at the prestigious Ulster Footballer of the Year Awards, held last night at Audi Belfast.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a standout year for both club and country, emerging as a key figure for Glentoran Women and continuing her impressive rise on the international stage. In her fourth senior appearance for Northern Ireland, Kascie scored the winning goal in a UEFA Nations League victory over Romania last month.

The 30-year-old forward - renowned for his creativity, flair and match-winning ability - returns to the BetMcLean Oval 12 years after bursting onto the scene as one of the most exciting young talents in the Irish Premier League.

Kodi Lyons-Foster departs

Glentoran can confirm that defender Kodi Lyons-Foster will depart the club following the expiration of his contract. 

The club held discussions with Kodi in recent months and offered new and improved terms in the hope of securing his future at the BetMcLean Oval. However, he has informed us of his decision to move on and pursue a new opportunity elsewhere.

We thank him for his contribution and professionalism and wish him well in the next chapter of his career.

Wilson at the double as Glens extend perfect start

Glentoran Women continued their impressive start to the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership season with a commanding 4-1 victory over Lisburn Rangers Ladies at the Blanchflower Stadium on Friday night.

Kim Turner’s side remain the only team in the division with a 100 per cent record after two rounds, and once again it was the club’s emerging young talent who provided the platform for success.

Teenager Mia Moore opened the scoring on 13 minutes, calmly slotting home after a sharp attacking move to notch her second goal in as many games.

Glentoran confirms player departures and transfer list updates

Glentoran can confirm that the following players will depart the club upon the expiry of their current contracts:
Fuad Sule, Wassim Aouachria, Finley Thorndike, Jay Donnelly and Niall McGinn.

We would like to thank each of them for their contribution to Glentoran and wish them every success in the next chapter of their careers.

In addition, Patrick McClean has been placed on the transfer list, with discussions ongoing with interested clubs.
