Stewart brace seals comeback win

Glentoran inflicted Coleraine’s first defeat of the season and extended their lead at the top of the Sports Direct Premiership with a 2–1 comeback win at the Showgrounds on Friday night.

Former Glentoran defender Kodi Lyons-Foster headed the hosts into an early lead, but a brilliant second-half brace from Jordan Stewart turned the game on its head to send Declan Devine’s men home with a massive three points.

Glentoran Pays Tribute to Harry Clarke

Glentoran Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of lifelong supporter Harry Clarke.

Harry, along with his brothers, was a familiar face around the BetMcLean Oval for many years and became well-known to generations of Glentoran supporters.

At one stage Harry served as chauffeur to striker John Colrain between 1966 and 1968, building a friendship that was fondly remembered when John’s family later met Harry and his wife Jo at a book launch.

Jenkins confident Glens can deliver at Coleraine

Glentoran striker Jordan Jenkins says he is determined to keep raising his game as the Glens prepare for Friday night’s Sports Direct Premiership clash away to unbeaten Coleraine at The Showgrounds (kick-off 7.45pm).

The 25-year-old East Belfast forward has begun the season in fine form, contributing four goals in all competitions and supplying the assist for Danny Amos’ opening-day winner at Portadown.

Every Academy squad will proudly wear the Text Teammate logo on the sleeves of their home and away kits this season, carrying the message of support and resilience to thousands of young players, families and supporters across Northern Ireland.

Glentoran Legends hit a magnificent seven

Last Sunday, the Glentoran Legends returned to action for their now annual fundraiser at Ballynahinch.

Organised by the Ballynahinch Glentoran Supporters Club, the match raises funds for their nominated charity each season. This year, the chosen charity was Beyond the Battlefield.

The Legends faced a Ballynahinch United Over-40s side, but the weather was far from kind, with persistent rain falling throughout most of the game.

Glens Women reclaim top spot with dominant win

Glentoran Women produced a commanding display to defeat Linfield 3-0 at the Danny Blanchflower Stadium and return to the summit of the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership.

Linfield came closest in the early stages when Jodie Loughrey struck the crossbar after Ashleigh McKinnon had denied Eve Reilly, but it was the Glens who took control. On 16 minutes, Demi Vance sent a precise ball over the top for Emily Wilson, who made no mistake to give the home side the lead.

Tier three status secured in NI Football Fund

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to confirm that it has been listed in Tier Three of the Northern Ireland Football Fund’s Performance Pathway strand, as announced today by Communities Minister Gordon Lyons.

Being placed in Tier Three means Glentoran is in line to receive more than £6 million towards the redevelopment of The Oval. 

The announcement is significant endorsement of the Club’s ambitious plans to transform the stadium into a modern, multi-purpose venue with capacity for up to 6,000 spectators.
