Glentoran secures planning approval for BetMcLean Oval

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to confirm that Belfast City Council has granted planning permission for the proposed redevelopment of the BetMcLean Oval.

The planning approval represents an important step forward in the Club’s long-term ambition to redevelop The BetMcLean Oval into a modern, multi-purpose stadium that will not only benefit the Club and its supporters, but also the wider community and football across Northern Ireland.

Glentoran unveil 2025/26 home kit

Glentoran has unveiled its new 2025/26 home kit – the first release under a new four-year partnership with leading Italian sportswear brand, Macron.

A modern tribute to the iconic 1998/99 and 2008/09 title-winning strips – both worn by Glentoran greats Paul Leeman and Colin Nixon – the design blends retro detail with bold, contemporary styling, while looking firmly to the future at the BetMcLean Oval.

Glentoran Women hit six past Linfield

Glentoran Women strengthened their position at the top of the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership with an impressive 6-2 win over Linfield at Midgley Park on Monday night.

The Glens made a fast start and were 3-0 up inside half an hour. Nadene Caldwell opened the scoring with a header from a Demi Vance corner, before a second arrived when Hannah Doherty turned a dangerous cross into her own net. Kascie Weir added a third.

Linfield responded well and when Cora Chambers pulled one back before the break. Early in the second half, Eve Reilly’s finish reduced the deficit to 3-2.

Charlie Lindsay signs two-year Glentoran contract

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to announce that Charlie Lindsay has signed a new two-year contract, committing his future to the BetMcLean Oval until the summer of 2027.

A boyhood Glentoran supporter and graduate of the club’s Academy, Lindsay made history in 2019 when he became the youngest-ever outfield player to feature for the first team when he debuted in the County Antrim Shield at just 15 years old.

Limavady United pre-season fixture confirmed

Glentoran Football Club can confirm that Declan Devine’s side will face Limavady United at the Limavady Showgrounds on Saturday 2nd August (Kick-off: 2:00pm) as part of the club’s 2025/26 pre-season schedule.

The fixture adds another valuable test for the squad as preparations continue for the new campaign.

Glentoran Women deliver win over Derry City

Glentoran Women extended their unbeaten start to the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership season with a dominant 4-0 win over Derry City at the Blanchflower Stadium.

A composed first-half performance saw the Glens take control of the contest as Rachel Rogan opened the scoring on 33 minutes, calmly finishing after a sustained spell of pressure. Just four minutes later, the lead was doubled when Mia Moore’s dangerous low cross was inadvertently turned into her own net by a Derry defender.

Jordan Jenkins signs new deal until 2027

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to announce that striker Jordan Jenkins has signed a new two-year contract, extending his stay at the BetMcLean Oval until the end of the 2026/27 season.

The 24-year-old East Belfast-born forward enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2024/25, finishing as the club’s top scorer with 18 goals across 29 starts and 19 substitute appearances in all competitions.

Glentoran skipper Marcus Kane signs new deal

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to announce that Club Captain Marcus Kane has signed a new 12-month contract, extending his remarkable stay at the BetMcLean Oval into a 14th season.

Since arriving in East Belfast in the summer of 2012, Kane has made 442 appearances and scored 39 goals in Glentoran colours, wearing the captain’s armband for the past eight seasons.

A modern-day club legend, Kane has lifted the Irish Cup on three occasions - in 2013, 2015, and most memorably as captain in 2020, firmly etching his name into Glentoran’s history books.

Lorcan Donnelly joins Ballinamallard United on loan

Glentoran Football Club has announced that goalkeeper Lorcan Donnelly has joined NIFL Championship side Ballinamallard United on loan until January 2026.

The highly-rated 19-year-old is a graduate of Glentoran’s Academy and Elite Scholarship Programme and made his senior debut for the club during the 2023/24 season in a Sports Direct Premiership fixture against Coleraine.
