Ballinamallard United

Fri, 23/08/2013 - 08:53

They were last season's surprise package and Ballinamallard United, managed by Whitey Anderson, certainly won many friends with their attractive football. Their 6th placed finish in the Danske Bank Premiership was well deserved and expectations will be high for at least a repeat of last year's performance. Player wise, the 'Mallards' have lost Chris Curran to Cliftonville but have recruited Richard Lecky from Portadown although Lecky has yet to feature this season due to injury.

The Under 12s departed for Dublin on Saturday knowing that a win would etch their names in the history books forever, and complete a remarkable Treble winning season!

The team bus set off from The Oval at 7.30am, but the early start was not going to deter the boys from ultimate glory. Having fallen short at the same stage last year after extra time, they displayed a professional attitude and burning desire to set the record straight from the word go.
