Glentoran Girls’ Elite Scholarship Programme wins U18 Schools’ Cup

The Glentoran Girls’ Elite Scholarship Programme secured a stunning 4-0 victory in today’s Northern Ireland Schools’ U18 Cup Final, overcoming a strong Rathmore Grammar School side in a dominant display at the Danny Blanchflower Stadium.

Two goals from Amy Majury (Rosario), along with strikes from Mia Moore (Glentoran) and Aoife O’Rawe (Glentoran), sealed an emphatic Cup Final performance.

Glentoran Women are delighted to announce the signing of highly rated midfielder Mia Moore, who returns to the BetMcLean Oval ahead of the 2025 season.

The 17-year-old Northern Ireland youth international becomes the Glens’ first signing of the new campaign, having agreed a deal that sees her rejoin the club where her football journey first began.

Glentoran Women: Kascie hits Northern Ireland's winner

Congratulations to Glentoran Women player Kascie Weir who scored the only goal in Northern Ireland’s  win over Romania in in a UEFA Women’s Nations League game in Belfast tonight.

18-year-old  Kascie struck after 19 minutes in what was only her third appearance for the national team. Also in the starting lineup was her Glens team mate Nadene Caldwell while her other fellow Glens Emily Wilson and Aimee Kerr were unused subs. Glens and Northern Ireland regular Chloe McCarron was injured with the Northern Ireland squad earlier in the month so missed out.

Jenkins goal in vain as Glens slip to narrow loss

Glentoran gave a valiant display but came away empty-handed after a 2-1 defeat to Linfield this afternoon at Windsor Park.

All three goals came during a frenetic opening period. Callum Morrison opened the scoring for the hosts, before Jordan Jenkins equalised for the Glens. However, Kirk Millar restored Linfield’s lead before the break — and it proved to be the winner.

Gyollai determined to deliver win in race for Europe

Glentoran’s newly crowned Player of the Year, Dániel Gyollai, says the squad is fully focused on delivering a statement performance against Linfield this weekend as they continue their push for automatic European qualification.

The Hungarian stopper, who was voted 2024/25 Player of the Year by Glentoran supporters on Tuesday night, is calling on his teammates to build on the momentum from their midweek win over Coleraine and extend their unbeaten run against Linfield to six games this season.

Dániel Gyollai named 2024/25 Glentoran Player of the Year

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to announce that Hungarian goalkeeper Dániel Gyollai has been named the 2024/25 Glentoran Player of the Year – an award voted for by the club’s supporters and organised by the Castlereagh Glentoran Supporters’ Club.

The 27-year-old was the overwhelming choice of supporters, claiming 54% of the total vote during Tuesday night’s home fixture against Coleraine – ahead of runner-up Fuad Sule (21%) and forward Jordan Jenkins (9%) in third place.

Connolly Strike Seals Crucial Win

Glentoran got their post-split campaign off to the perfect start with a 2-1 victory over Coleraine this evening in the Sports Direct Premiership at The BetMcLean Oval.

An early own goal from Charles Dunne, followed by a second-half strike from substitute Dylan Connolly, secured the three points for the Glens and lifted them back up to second in the table.

Colts edge Linfield in penalty drama to lift Harry Cavan Youth Cup

Glentoran Colts secured a first Harry Cavan Youth Cup triumph in 30 years after overcoming Linfield in a dramatic penalty shoot-out at The National Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The game finished 1-1 after extra time, with Jude Johnson’s well-taken opener cancelled out by a late equaliser from Linfield’s Kalum Thompson in the closing moments of normal time. With no further goals in extra time, the final was decided from the spot, where goalkeeper Milo Beimers produced two superb saves to help the Glens to a 5-4 win.
