Glentoran Football Club offers deep condolences to the family of former Glentoran and Northern Ireland Team Attendant Derek McKinley who has passed away.
Derek acted as Team Attendant/Kitman for a number of years and served under managers Paul Miller, Alan McDonald, Scott Young and Eddie Patterson. During his tenure the club won each of the four senior trophies, most recently the Irish Cup in 2013.
The Glens left the bright lights of the city behind to make their way north in the hope of not only capitalising upon their last match victory against Coleraine, but to improve upon Tuesday evenings disappointing League Cup exit against Crusaders.

On Saturday we try to get our league campaign back on the rails with a visit to Coleraine Showgrounds.
Paul O'Neill and Stevie Gordon - who were unused subs for the first team last night - both scored hat tricks at the Showgrounds tonight as the Wee Glens ran riot to beat Ballymena United 0-6.

Mal Smith was this week named Glentoran Under 20s Player of the Month for October.
Mal (17) - a right back - has scored an incredible eight goals from that position in twelve appearances so far this season and has neen in outstanding form so far,
Glentoran bowed out of the Bet McLean League Cup tonight, conceding 3 second half goals to Crusaders. It had looked promising for the Glens who led at half time thanks to two nicely worked goals from Robbie McDaid and Curtis Allen but despite the advantage of a strong wind in the second half, Harry Doherty in the visitors' goal was barely tested.

Tomorrow night we welcome Crusaders for the quarter final of the BetMcLean League Cup.
We clearly need to improve our record against Crusaders but maybe we can take a positive sign from the fact that the last time we beat them was in the semi final of the 2015 Irish Cup when Curtis Allen’s goal was enough to get us through at Mourneview Park.

The directors of Glentoran and Ballymena United today participated in a pre match Act of Remembrance at the Thomas Pearson M.M. memorial at the Oval to remember the fallen and to commemorate tomorrow's 100th Anniversary of the Armistice that ended World War One.
The service was conducted by the chaplain of Glentoran Football Club Rev. David Thompson with music of a lone piper of the Royal Irish Regiment.
A goal after 14 minutes saw Ballymena Utd claim all 3 points in today's Danske Bank Premiership match at the Oval. Whilst the last few weeks have seen Glentoran on the wrong end of some bizarre refereeing decisions which cost us points, today we were probably flattered by the 1-nil scoreline; the visitors failing to convert a host of chances during the game.
