Mal Smith was this week named Glentoran Under 20s Player of the Month for October.
Mal (17) - a right back - has scored an incredible eight goals from that position in twelve appearances so far this season and has neen in outstanding form so far,
Mal is a textbook example of the good work the Glentoran Academy does with promising young players. He joined the Academy as a 10-year old and has worked his way through the Academy ranks so successfully that he has been training with the first team since the start of October and in the past few weeks he has been in Ronnie McFall's first team squad. He actually made the bench for the first time in last night's match with Crusaders.
Well done Mal. Clearly a player with a very exciting future at Glentoran.
