Match Preview - Glentoran v Warrenpoint Town

Fri, 14/12/2018 - 00:04

Saturday 15th December 2018. Kick off 3.00pm

On Saturday we play Warrenpoint Town for the second time this season, after a draw at Milltown in September, a match that could be said to have represented the start of a turning point in our season to date. We went to Milltown on an 8-match unbeaten run but although we extended that run, it was a very disappointing result when – a John Herron header in front and ‘point down to ten men after Danny Wallace was sent off.

Congratulations to 15 year old goalkeeper Ryan Dalzell who has been named as our U20 Player of the Month for November. Ryan is pictured here receiving a prize from u20 Keeper coach Lewis Massey. Ryan kept two clean sheets in three appearances in November and made a string of great saves. At 15 this is a great achievement for Ryan and a well deserved accolade

Institute 3–3 Glentoran

Sun, 09/12/2018 - 00:06

For what seems like the umpteenth time this season, Glentoran today managed to needlessly throw away a good winning position today, in our first league match at the Brandywell in nearly 47 years. Three times hard work by Robbie McDaid got is into the lead but on at least two of those occasions, the sloppy defending that has become our trademark cost us the lead.
