250 milestone for Moko

Thu, 09/05/2019 - 21:12

Congratulations to our skipper, Marcus Kane on making his 250th first team appearance for Glentoran in Tuesday evening’s Europa League Playoff semi-final win over Glenavon.

Shankill Road man Marcus has been one of the few constants in our first team squad since Eddie Patterson signed him from Linfield in July 2012. While at the Blues he made 19 appearances, scoring 2 goals. He also spent the 2011/12 season on loan to Carrick Rangers in the Danske Bank Premiership.

Glenavon 2-4 Glentoran

Wed, 08/05/2019 - 01:13

Glentoran saved what was by far their best performance of the season for the most important match to date in tonight’s Europa League Playoff Semi Final at Mourneview Park. No one can say this convincing win wasn’t deserved as the Glens started a high tempo attacking game and maintained it throughout, to set up a third Playoff Final visit to Solitude in four seasons.

Sion Swifts Ladies 2-2 Glentoran Women

Thu, 02/05/2019 - 00:07

Glentoran Women dropped their first points of the campaign as two goals in the final twenty minutes from Sion Swifts rescued a point at the Melvin Sports Complex.

After a scoreless first half, Diarmuid O’Carroll's Glens looked to be on their way to three points thanks to two goals from Demi Vance.

However, the Strabane-based hosts, who eliminated Linfield from the League Cup two days earlier, struck back through Tyler Toland and Lauren Brennan to rescue a point.

Glentoran Women 5-0 Comber Rec Ladies

Mon, 29/04/2019 - 22:26

Glentoran Women swept to a convincing five-goal victory over Comber Rec. Ladies in the League Cup quarter-finals.

It took the Glens 32 minutes to open the scoring with Nadene Caldwell getting on the end of a Demi Vance corner following a sustained period of pressure.

Five minutes before the break, Vance was the provider again with another inch-perfect corner and this time it was Sarah Gamble who rose the highest to get her head to it and double the Glens lead.

Robbie presented with Castlereagh Award

Sun, 28/04/2019 - 15:53

Prior to yesterday's final home match of the season, Robbie McDaid was presented with the Glentoran Player of the Year award by senior officers of the Catlereagh Glentoran Supporters Club, long time organisers of the award.

22-year old Robbie has scored 14 goals this season, despite spending a lot of the season in an unfamiliar wide position. To date he has scored 25 goals from 71 appearances since signing after returning from England in August 2017. He  was a convincing winner of this year's award with 50% of the overall vote.
