Match Preview: Glentoran v Institute

Saturday 27 April 2019, Kick off 3.00pm.

On Saturday we play what can fairly be described as our most important game of the season so far. If we avoid defeat, we are in the Europa League play offs next month. Institute are two points behind us but although they have no UEFA license for next season, the play off place will not go below seventh place. So, it’s all or nothing

2019/2020 Licenses Awarded

We are delighted to announce that the club has been awarded both  Premiership and UEFA Licences for the 2019/20 season. Sincere thanks to all those volunteers who worked so tirelessly to complete the successful applications.

Information on play off dates will be posted here if we successfully qualify on Saturday. Although Institute have not applied for a UEFA license, the play off place does not extend beyond seventh place.

Great start continues for Glens Women

Glentoran Women continued their great start to the season with a 7-0 win over Derry City in the Danske Banky Women's Premiership at the Brandywell tonight. The Glens goals came from Aimee-Lee Peachey, Nadene Caldwell, Kelly Bailie (2), Rachel Rogan (2) and Demi Vance.

This means the Glens have scored an incredible 33 goals without reply in their opening three League and Cup games.

Glentoran 2-2 Warrenpoint Town

Glentoran require 1 point from their final fixture to clinch a Europa League play-off spot following a 2-2 draw at the Oval on Tuesday evening.

The team failed to reproduce their fine second half performance against Newry City last Friday evening but showed enough charachter to twice come from behind and earn a draw.

Two first half goals from Curtis Allen gave Glentoran a deserved victory at the Newry Showgrounds in this evenings Danske Bank Premiership fixture. Mick McDermott made two changes to the starting line up for this game with Nathan Kerr returning in place of Willie Garrett (ill) and Robbie McDaid replacing Paul O'Neill.

Glens players star as Northern Ireland win Centenary Shield

Glentoran Under 20 players Mal Smith, Lewis McGarvey and Sean Og Gallagher all figured prominently at the Dub tonight as the Northern Ireland Under 18 Schoolboy team had a comfortable 3-1 win over the Republic of Ireland to win the Centenary Shield outright.

The boys are joined in the photograph by Glens team mates Paul McLaughlin and Jamie Glover, who both played prominent roles for Northern Ireland in the erlier stages of the tournament. Paul and Jamie missed tonight's game as they are needed for the Glentoran first team squad at Newry tomorrow night.

Bailie hat trick in 6-goal league start for Glens Women

Glentoran Women followed last week's double figure win in the County Antrim Cup with a 6-0 home win over newly promoted Comber Rec in tonight's opening game in the 2019 Danske Bank Women's Premiership.

Kelly Bailie scored an excellent hat trick supported by two goals from the prolific Rachel Rogan and one from Demi Vance.
