A Storm is Brewing
"In Bergen, I will never forget the players in the dressing room at half time, flooding the floor with rainwater, as they squeezed their shirts and shorts out. No moans, just the will to get the job done."

Our goalkeepers have had a real boost since the start of pre-season training on Monday with the presence of a very special guest – highly experienced international goalkeeper coach, Des McAleenan. Des, originally from Dublin, is goalkeeper coach for the USA Under 20s squad and has worked at club level in Saudi Arabia and Iran. His club carer most notably included a highly successful nine-year spell at New York Red Bulls where he worked with a number of top-quality goalkeepers, the best known of whom were Tim Howard (Everton & USA) and Ronal Waterreus (Rangers & Holland).
Glentoran Women sailed through to the Final of the County Antrim Cup this evening after a 5-0 win over Cliftonville at Ulidia. A Rachel Rogan hat trick and goals from Demi Vance and Nadene Caldwell sealed the win. This maintains the team's exceptional cup performances of late as the current Women's Irish Cup holders and league leaders face Sion Swifts in the League Cup Final at Seaview next Friday (27 June) at Seaview.

Last Saturday saw the Glentoran Legends make the long trek up to the Maiden City as they travelled to face the Derry City Legends in their annual charity game, at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.
Wednesday heralds the start of what promises to be an enormous two weeks for Glentoran Women with three matches that can play a major role in defining our season:
Northern Ireland Women's manager Kenny Shiels has named his first senior squad for this week's training camp, and it includes four Glentoran players.
There's a return to the international squad for last week's hat trick hero, midfielder Nadene Caldwell, and the recently returned goalkeeper Emma Higgins. They are joined by regular squad members, skipper Jessica Foy and in form midfielder, Demi Vance.
Next week's camp will act as preparation for the EURO 2021 qualifying campaign which kicks off against Norway on 30th August.
Congratulations girls and good luck.
With so many young players currently playing for our Academy at various age levels, child welfare is clearly an issue Glentoran sees as a major priority for the club. To ensure full compliance, we currently have 27 coaches completing the Irish FA Safeguarding Course across last Thursday night and tonight at the National Stadium (inluding our current first team goalkeeper, Elliott Morris).
A hat trick from Nadene Caldwell and one from recent signing Jessica Davis gave Glentoran Women a convincing win over Comber Rec at Londonderry Park, Newtownards this evening. The Glens closed the gap with Linfield Ladies at the top of the league to three points as the Blues drew tonight with Sion Swifts.
