Today's installment in 'Cup Final Countdown' reviews two of Glentoran's most famous Cup Final wins. It was 30 years ago to this very day when Glentoran and our cockerel mascot brought the 1983 Cup back to East Belfast.

We are delighted to announce that Glentoran defender Jason Hill has signed a new 1 year contract extension. Jason turned down offers from other clubs and took a pay cut to remain with Glentoran.

The Premier Lounge will be open this Wednesday night when a number of our 1st team squad will come down and be available to chat to fans about their preparation for the Cup Final. It is hoped some who attend will have won previous Irish Cups so they can discuss their experiences.
To ensure this is a great pre Irish Cup Final night we have also invited a number of Glentoran Legends to attend and be available for the question & answer section so watch this space for confirmations on who will attend.
Can all fans, supporters clubs and academy teams who have reserved adult or concession tickets for this weekend's Irish Cup Final please collect and pay for these by Tuesday at 8pm through Ruth at The Superstore. Any tickets not collected by this point will be re-distributed. To date, our ticket allocation is sold out therefore it is essential that these tickets are collected.
On Tuesday evening, the club expects to have the Railway Stand tickets on sale as well. These will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
As our first installment in the 'Cup Final Countdown' we look back to the early years of Glentoran in The Irish Cup concluding in our first Irish Cup win in 1914.
Following extensive negotiations and a review of the exit and entry requirements the club are delighted to announce that temporary seating will be installed in the Railway End for Glentoran supporters for next Saturday's Marie Curie Irish Cup Final against Cliftonville. There is an allocation of 500 seats and we expect to have tickets on sale in the superstore by Tuesday evening. Please contact Ruth at the Superstore to reserve your ticket

As part of the build-up for next Saturday's Irish Cup Final against Cliftonville at Windsor Park, glentoran.com will be reliving some of the greatest Cup Final memories in the club's 130 year history. Glentoran have won the Irish Cup on 20 occasions starting all the way back in 1914. Since then Glentoran established themselves as one of the best sides in the country, consistently winning the famous competition. In the 1980s and 1990s, The Glens won The Cup an incredible 8 times, four of which in a row from 1985-1988.
