Irish Cup Final Countdown

Sun, 28/04/2013 - 13:37

As part of the build-up for next Saturday's Irish Cup Final against Cliftonville at Windsor Park, glentoran.com will be reliving some of the greatest Cup Final memories in the club's 130 year history. Glentoran have won the Irish Cup on 20 occasions starting all the way back in 1914. Since then Glentoran established themselves as one of the best sides in the country, consistently winning the famous competition. In the 1980s and 1990s, The Glens won The Cup an incredible 8 times, four of which in a row from 1985-1988. Since the turn of the century, Cup glory has dried up in East Belfast despite a famous victory over Linfield in 2001. It has now been 9 years since we last tasted Cup Final glory, beating Coleraine in 2004.

Stay tuned for the first post in our Cup Final Countdown later today and throughout the week!
