Due to popular demand, we have reproduced this interview with former player and manager Scott Young, by Eddy Patrick as part of his 'Raiders of the Lost Archives' series in our matchday programme, the Glentoran Gazette. This was the first time that Scott had spoken in such depth about his time at the club, since leaving his post as manager, two years ago last week.
Richard Clarke's contract with Glentoran FC has been terminated by mutual consent.
Richard played 209 games for the club since joining from Newry City and scored 19 goals.
Everyone at Glentoran would like to thank Richard for his contribution to the club and wish him well for the future.
Glentoran Seconds Intermediate Cup game against Queen's University which was due to be played at the Oval today with a 1.30pm kick off has been called off.
Heavy overnight rain left the Oval pitch unplayable.
Our game against Ballymena scheduled for Saturday 8th March will now be played on Friday 7th March, kick off is at 7:45.
Match Day Steward Vacancies
Glentoran Football Club is keen to recruit Match Day Stewards at the Oval for the remainder of the 2013/14 Danske Bank Premiership season and beyond. As a safety steward you will ensure the safety of our supporters and visitors from the time they enter the Oval until they depart. You will also help support Glentoran Football Club in making significant financial savings and satisfy essential conditions of our Ground Safety Certificate.
Glentoran and Coleraine shared the spoils in horrendous conditions at the Oval today. Ruairi Harkin gave the visitors the lead early in the first half but Glentoran responded well after the break with Aaron Boyd grabbing a deserved equaliser.
The 'Swinging Sixties' take over the Glentoran Gazette this week as we have two articles featuring that period and perhaps the most iconic era of our club's existence.
Hopefully our good start to 2014 can continue as we welcome Coleraine to East Belfast on Saturday for an Irish Premiership Fixture.
The Premier Lounge will be open as normal at 12:30 and we will have live coverage of the premiership match as Sunderland face Southampton (KO 12:45pm). Live and exclusive coverage of Glentoran v Coleraine will be shown on all screens at 3pm and we finish the day with another Premiership match with Liverpool V Aston Villa (KO 5:30pm).
