Glens March On To Quarter Finals

Mon, 18/02/2013 - 22:29

Full-time St Patrick's Athletic of Dublin were big favourites to beat Glentoran in the Setanta Cup this year having finished 3rd in their league last season. But a gritty display in Dublin earned a hard fought 0-0 draw last week, enabling Glentoran to be more adventurios in Belfast this evening and eventually secure the vital goal which sends us through to the next round.

Glens host St Pat's in Setanta Clash

Sat, 16/02/2013 - 15:20

Following a hard fought 0-0 draw in Dublin last week, Glentoran are in a reasonable position going into the second leg of the first round of the Setanta Cup against St Pat's Athletic. The match in Dublin was a game of few chances but St Pat's controlled the majority of possession. This week Glentoran will look to use home advantage to take control and hopefully get the all important goals required to send us through to the next round.

Cliftonville are currently 12 points clear at the top of the league table with Linfield 15 points behind. A loss at The Oval would surely see an end to Linfield's slim title hopes.
