Dungannon vist Oval this Weekend

Fri, 26/09/2014 - 19:08

Victories are proving hard to come by in the Danske Bank Premiership for Glentoran this season but performances haven't quite been as poor. The team have played well and with a little more luck in front of goal and composure in the latter stages of games Glentoran could be sitting far better in the current table. As it lies, Glentoran are in 8th position on just 11 points from 9 games having drawn four of our last six games. Despite that we are only 6 points off the top, 3 behind champions Cliftonville and 2 behind biggest rivals Linfield.

Glentoran 2-1 Larne

Tue, 23/09/2014 - 23:36

It was another difficult game for Glentoran this season but a victory nonetheless defeating Larne 2-1 at The Oval in the Co Antrim Shield. Goals from Kym Nelson and Jordan Stewart saw Glentoran through to the Second Round.

Glentoran start Shield against Larne

Tue, 23/09/2014 - 14:53

Glentoran take a break from the Danske Bank Premiership and face Larne tonight at The Oval in the County Antrim Sheild First Round. Glentoran have a rich history in the competition having won it on twenty five occasions with our best run being over the turn of the Millennium where Glentoran lifted the infamously huge trophy five straight seasons. The Glens last won the competition in 2010-11 where Matty Burrows was the hero with Grant Gardiner securing the victory late in stoppage time.

Institute 1-1 Glentoran

Sat, 20/09/2014 - 17:26

There was late drama once again for the Glens this afternoon, this time a late equaliser from Curtis Allen, back in the starting line up after being dropped to the bench last week, rescuing a point at Drumahoe against Institute.

Glentoran travel to Drumahoe

Sat, 20/09/2014 - 00:40

Glentoran's frustrating start to the Danske Bank Premiership continued with more late drama costing Eddie Patterson's side vital points in last week's draw in Ballymena. Despite the hosts being down to 10 men throughout after an early red card Glentoran struggled to see the game out and Ballymena equalised for 2-2 in the dying moments of the game. Following Linfield's late winner at The Oval in August and Ballinamallard's last ditch equaliser a week after, Glentoran have conceded three costly goals in stoppage time already this season.
