There's something of an Italian theme to tonight's Glentoran Gazette for our Danske Bank Premiership game against Ballymena United. We have the second part of Sam Robinson's tale of reuniting Rab McCreery with his jersey from our European Cup tie with Juventus and Rab relates his memories of taking on Claudio Gentile. Then our Italian Glenman, Giampaolo Tassinari, looks back at Ballymena United's Cup Winners' Cup tie with another Italian giant, AS Roma. Plus the concluding part of Brian McClelland's story of Peter Doherty, a look at Arthur Stewart who served both of tonight's opponents w
Football people of a certain vintage will remember an iconic goal from Leeds United v Southampton in 1971. Well our Under 18 boys matched it yesterday at Seaview v St Oliver Plunkett U18 in the NIBFA National League. 20 passes all over the pitch, completed by a wonder strike to finish from Benji Magee.
Watch and enjoy.

For the second successive month, Elliott Morris has been voted Glentoran Supporters’ Player of the Month.
In what was a disappointing month for the team, compared to August and September, Elliott maintained his usual high standards in goal and received 29% of the vote.
Runner-up this month was our young right back, Nathan Kerr who has firmly established himself as a supporters’ favourite since joining from Stevenage Borough in the summer. Also polling well were Eoghan McCawl, Marcus Kane, Calum Birney and Curtis Allen.
This season, each month there will be a Glentoran Player Of The Month, voted on by Glentoran supporters. The poll will appear following the last game of each calendar month and the winner announced on this website early the following month.
Just place your vote beside your choice. Voting closes at 11.59pm on Saturday 4th November with the winner will be announced the following day.
Coleraine remain top of the Danske Bank Premiership following a straightforward win against Glentoran at the Showgrounds.
The Glens went into the game without Nathan Kerr, Calum Birney and Eoghan McCawl (all injured) with Tre Sterling, Steven Gordon and Tiarnan McNicholl coming into the starting line up.
Coleraine v Glentoran
Saturday 28th October, 3.00pm.
This Saturday we travel to the Showgrounds to take on league leaders, Coleraine for the second time this season. There’s no doubt this will be a major test for us but we can go in the knowledge we are still the only team to take points so far from the league’s in-form team.
Glentoran missed their chance to book a place in the semi final of the Toals Co Antrim Shield tonight, losing 1-0 at the Ballymena Showgrounds. There were just two changes to the starting line up from Saturday's 2-0 win at Dungannon; Kym Nelson came in at left back for Ross Redman and James Knowles started in midfield in place of Eoghan McCawl.
