Glentoran 0-2 Ards

Sat, 25/11/2017 - 22:12

Glentoran produced another disappointing home performance, losing 2-nil to Ards in today's Danske Bank Premiership game. Ards came into this game on the back of 4 consecutive league defeats and having not won at the Oval since 1987, the Glens were big favourites to take the points. However a mixture of poor finishing and sloppy mistakes meant it was Colin Nixon's side who emerged victorious after what was a dire 90 minutes of 'football'.

As well as our usual contributors the Globetrotting Glenman, Jonny Blair, makes a return to the Oval for tomorrow's Glentoran Gazette.  Plus Roy Downes and Brian McClelland tell us about a Reverend and a Bishop, groundsman William Kirkwood updates us on the challenges he faces in keeping the hallowed turf in good nick as winter sets in, Philip Stevenson looks at another jersey from our game against Juventus and Eddy Patrick interviews Calum Birney.  All that along with the latest news, views, interviews, stats and photo action.  We're back to a 3pm kick off on a Saturday at the Oval after a

We welcome Ards to the Oval on Saturday for the first time this season.

Glentoran Christmas Appeal for the Homeless - Reminder.

Tue, 21/11/2017 - 20:47

This year the homeless appeal has got off to a fantastic start.  Donations have been gratefully received, but we are still quite far from our target. Collection points will be the main car park during our two remaining home matches prior to the planned distribution date. The Superstore will also be receiving donations during their Christmas opening hours. Beep Beeps ice-cream parlour 254 Newtownards Road is also a collection point for our homeless appeal. We are looking for volunteers for Saturday 25th November and Saturday 9th December to distribute leaflets and man the collect point.
