Warrenpoint Town v Glentoran

Saturday 18th November 2017

Glentoran travel to Milltown on Saturday for the first time since October 2015. We won our home game in September 2-0 with goals from Curtis Allen and Robbie McDaid. ‘Point currently lie ninth in the table but carry a fair amount of attacking threat with their three Murrays up front so we will need to be totally focussed from the start on getting the game won and safe.

Glentoran 1-3 Glenavon

Tue, 14/11/2017 - 22:50

Two late penalties saw the Lurgan Glens take the points in tonight's Danske Bank Premiership game at the Oval.

Glentoran slipped to a frustrating 3-1 defeat at home to Glenavon on Tuesday at The Oval. The relatively entertaining game was full of chances at either end with the Lurgan Blues taking theirs and thus taking the three points.

Tonight's Gazette

Tue, 14/11/2017 - 11:05

A few days later than we expected but a packed edition of the Glentoran Gazette goes on sale at the Oval tonight.  Gazette photographer Tommy Sewell has news of the Ballymac GSC's recent trip to the Netherlands and we also have a look at Glentoran Disability FC who had their own trip to England to take part in their first cross channel tournament.  There's details of Tommy "Tucker" McKee's latest fund raising venture and our history men have been delving into the archives once again, Roy Downes with the story of a World War One prisoner of war who played for both Glentoran and Glenavon and

When Rab met Claudio

Fri, 10/11/2017 - 19:44

I’m fifty-two. There are only three things that still frighten me. Polystyrene packaging, those white-faced Pierrot clowns and Rab McCreery. If we were to play a word association game and I was to say Rab, you (if you are of a certain vintage) would undoubtedly reply, “hard man” and that would be without question, very true. Such was the reputation of the Glentoran right back of the Seventies and early Eighties though, that many people have tended to forget above anything else Rab was a smashing footballer.

Warm Dutch Welcome for the Ballymac!

Tue, 07/11/2017 - 01:29

The Ballymac GSC continued its great history of European travel this weekend when a sizeable group of club members flew to Holland to attend a NEC Nijmegen Match. This was a follow up to a long standing invitation following a visit to Belfast, the Oval and Ballymac GSC clubrooms by a group of NEC Nijmegen fanatics back in February 2017 for the Danske Premiership “Big Two” game against Linfield.
