Ballymena United v Glentoran

Tuesday 24th October 2017, 19.45pm.

Tomorrow night we travel to Ballymena Showgrounds for the second time this season in the second round of the County Antrim Shield.

Ballymena will be looking to bounce out of a poor run of form following a 4-0 rout by Glenavon on Saturday. They will also be looking to avenge our comprehensive league win at the Showgrounds last month. We will be looking to build on the weekend’s strong performance against Dungannon as we go for our first silverware since 2015.

Gary Haveron said after the Dungannon game: “We’ll assess the boys on Monday night to see who’s fit and available though I don’t think anyone took any serious knocks at Dungannon. We’ll also look at lads like Ross Redman who was just back from injury and did well on Saturday night. We’ll also look at the rest of the squad to decide who’s best placed to come in and freshen things up a bit. We know it’ll be a challenge because despite their recent patchy form it’s always tough enough going to Ballymena plus they’ve had a bit of a pedigree in the County Antrim Shield of late. But we’re up for it and look forward to the challenge”.
