On Saturday we welcome the Mallards to the Oval for their first visit of the season and our first meeting since the league opener back in August. On our visit to Ferney Park we were 2-1 due to a double from Curtis Allen. Nothing less than three points will suffice this time with Ballymena breathing down our necks and Ballinamallard currently four points adrift of Carrick at the bottom of the table.
David Ervine Foundation Supporting Glentoran Academy
At our last home match, the Glentoran Academy was presented with the second annual bursary from the David Ervine Foundation.
The Foundation’s partnership with Glentoran Academy was launched in January 2017 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the death of David Ervine MLA, an East Belfast man and lifelong Glenman. The David Ervine Foundation made the following commitment to the Glentoran Academy:
Bursaries over 5 years, to support four disadvantaged young people each year in the Glentoran Academy to help fulfil their ambitions in football and in life;

Danske Bank’s Club Focus shines a light on the local football community. Glentoran welcome Cool FM to East Belfast to meet the people behind the scenes and give a glimpse into the rich history of the club.
As part of the Club Focus campaign, fans can win tickets to this weekend's game at The Oval between Glentoran and Ballinamallard United (kick-off: 3pm).

Crusaders 1-0 Glentoran
Glentoran were extremely unlucky not to leave Seaview with at least a point after a very spirited performance against Crusaders. The Glens went into the game without the suspended Allen and Knowles and with McGuigan and Redman still missing through injury. Kym Nelson came in at left back with Gary Haveron going with a 4-5-1 formation. Calum Birney was back in the heart of the defence with skipper Marcus Kane in midfield alongside Eric Foley, Dan Kelly, Dylan Davidson and Eoghan McCawl. Robbie McDaid played the lone striker role.
