Academy coaches secure IFA qualification

Mon, 10/06/2019 - 22:14

With so many young players currently playing for our Academy at various age levels, child welfare is clearly an issue Glentoran sees as a major priority for the club. To ensure full compliance, we currently have 27 coaches completing the Irish FA Safeguarding Course across last Thursday night and tonight at the National Stadium (inluding our current first team goalkeeper, Elliott Morris).

Academy Manager Stephen Lowry: "Child Welfare is extremely important at Glentoran Academy. Participation in this course will mean that by the beginning of the new season, all of the over 100 coaches working with the Academy will have valid Safeguarding certificates. Well done to all of our coaches for recognising the importance and giving up their time and to Lesley Wilson our Child Welfare Officer for her continued dedication to this vital role. Thank you to Kevin Doyle and the Irish FA for supplying the courses".
