Glentoran 1-1 Ards

It was an uninspiring game at a very windy Oval this afternoon, Glentoran dominating the opening half before conceding another disappointing goal just before the interval. With Kym Nelson seeing red moments later the Glens had the chance to turn the game around in the second half against 10 men but only managed to beat Samuel Johnston in the Ards goal only once.

McDaid is Glens February Player of the Month

Robbie McDaid has won his second consecutive Supporters' Glentoran Player of the Month for his strong performances in February. Robbie played in all five of our February matches, scoring in our draw at Newry and our home win over Warrenpoint Town. He achieved 41% of a hard contested vote, pipping four goal Darren Murray who had 34%. Also polling were Conor Pepper (18%), Lukas Gwiazda and Marcus Kane.

King George V Playing Fields

The Board of Directors would like to warmly thank all the elected councillors in the East Belfast Working group for their help in both getting the recently announced King George V Playing Fields agreement in place but also in assisting in securing additional pitch facilities for our ever growing academy. It is very gratifying to see the cross party and cross community support we have received in this regard from our elected councillors.

Demi at the double for Northern Ireland

Congratulations to Glentoran players Demi Vance and Jessica Foy on helping Northern Ireland win a place in the third place play off at the the Alanya Gold City Women’s Cup in Turkey with a 4-0 win against Kazakhstan. Demi was on the scoresheet twice.

Diarmuid O'Carroll is new Head Coach of the Cup Winners

Glentoran FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Diarmuid O’Carroll as Head Coach of Glentoran Women FC and to warmly welcome him to the Oval..

Diarmuid joins us after a long playing career that started at Celtic, saw him capped by the Republic of Ireland at every level up to Under 21,  and effectively ended on an incredible high with four consecutive NIFL Premiership winner’s medals with Cliftonville and Crusaders. He was a long standing signing target for Glentoran during Eddie Patterson’s tenure as Manager.
