This week's Gazette

Sat, 22/03/2014 - 12:31

The Gazette is back for today's visit of Cliftonville to the Oval and we've 32 pages with something for everyone.

As well as the usual views from the dressing room by Eddie Patterson and Elliott Morris, there are a number of brilliant features, covering many aspects of Glentoran, past and present.

John Moore tells the emotional story of his friend and fellow Glenman who has battled with kidney problems and had his day made when the Irish Cup went to visit him in hospital.

Glentoran v Cliftonville

Sat, 22/03/2014 - 09:29

The Glens face the Reds at the Oval this afternoon with both teams needing a win. Cliftonville will be hoping that Linfield drop points at Coleraine and should they overcome Glentoran then they could return to the top of the Danske Bank Premiership. The Glens have won their last two league games 3-nil as they confirmed their place in the top 6. Fourth, or even third, place is still achievable and Eddie Patterson's team will be going all out to try and get that.

Fighting Food Poverty in East Belfast

Wed, 19/03/2014 - 17:24

Glentoran has always been known as a community club but in recent years the feeling among fans is that the club could possibly do more. We have many supporters clubs who raise money or do their bit to raise awareness for charities etc but there is an organization right one our doorstep who are doing their bit to put food on peoples tables, literally!

Glentoran 0 - 0 Shamrock Rovers

Mon, 17/03/2014 - 22:56

Glentoran restored some pride with a 0-0 draw in this second leg Setanta Sports Cup quarter final, Shamrock Rovers going through after their first leg victory in Dublin.  The visitors had the better of the first half with Eamon Zayed and Dean Kelly both twice bringing good saves from Elliott Morris.  The visitors didn't have things all their own way however, as Jordan Stewart fired just wide after a typical run and Jim O'Hanlon tested Barry Murphy in the Rovers goal.
