Aaron Smyth has been suspended from all activities by the club pending the conclusion of an internal disciplinary process.

As a result, Aaron will not be available for selection for this weekend's match away to Ards.

Santos FC host Glentoran Polish Academy

Glentoran's recently formed Polish Academy travelled to Carryduff last weekend for a football fun day with Santos FC. Players and parents were treated to excellent hospitality with a range of fun small sided football games as well as refreshments afterwards. Over 30 kids played in the event ranging in age from 3-7 playing 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 small sided games. 

Glentoran Football Club would like to thank Santos FC for their generous hospitality and the fun day had by all involved. We are looking forward to continuing this new friendship in the future.

 

Meeting with the Minister

As part of ongoing discussions, representatives of Glentoran met with Paul Givan, Minister for Communities and his team, to present their plans for the new stadium under the (DCAL) Sub-Regional Stadia Programme  for Soccer. The meeting was facilitated by local MLA's Robin Newton and Sammy Douglas and local East Belfast MP, Gavin Robinson. Both Gavin and Robin attended the meeting to give their support.

Under 20s: Crusaders v Glentoran

Glentoran Under 20s faced off against Crusaders on Saturday looking to maintain their winning streak in the NIFL Premiership Development League.

The Glens started the game at a high tempo having a number of half chances in the opening 15 minutes. 

They went ahead shortly after and what a goal it was with nearly every player getting a touch of the ball before Tiarnan McAuley's cross into the box found Padraig Hughes who swivelled and shot to put his side in front.

Good Luck to Glentoran Academy teams this Weekend

It has been a busy summer for the Glentoran Academy with over a dozen players represented at The SuperCup NI (The Milk Cup). On top of that in the last couple of weeks, 10 Glentoran players in the U14, U15 and U16 age groups represented Northern Ireland in various tournaments both at home and in Holland. As always, a number of players were also on trial at some of the UK's top academies.

Promising Academy Products Sign Professional Contracts

Glentoran FC is pleased to announce that two of our promising young players – Patrick Cafolla and Karl Hamill – have signed their first professional contracts with the club.

Patrick and Karl are both 18 and from Newtownards and have been with the club since close season 2013. They both made their first team debuts last season and are regulars in the Northern Ireland Under 18 international squad.
