Glentoran Christmas Appeal for the Homeless - Reminder.

Tue, 21/11/2017 - 20:47

This year the homeless appeal has got off to a fantastic start.  Donations have been gratefully received, but we are still quite far from our target. Collection points will be the main car park during our two remaining home matches prior to the planned distribution date. The Superstore will also be receiving donations during their Christmas opening hours. Beep Beeps ice-cream parlour 254 Newtownards Road is also a collection point for our homeless appeal. We are looking for volunteers for Saturday 25th November and Saturday 9th December to distribute leaflets and man the collect point.

Warrenpoint Town v Glentoran

Saturday 18th November 2017

Glentoran travel to Milltown on Saturday for the first time since October 2015. We won our home game in September 2-0 with goals from Curtis Allen and Robbie McDaid. ‘Point currently lie ninth in the table but carry a fair amount of attacking threat with their three Murrays up front so we will need to be totally focussed from the start on getting the game won and safe.

Two late penalties saw the Lurgan Glens take the points in tonight's Danske Bank Premiership game at the Oval.

Glentoran slipped to a frustrating 3-1 defeat at home to Glenavon on Tuesday at The Oval. The relatively entertaining game was full of chances at either end with the Lurgan Blues taking theirs and thus taking the three points.

Tonight's Gazette

Tue, 14/11/2017 - 11:05

A few days later than we expected but a packed edition of the Glentoran Gazette goes on sale at the Oval tonight.  Gazette photographer Tommy Sewell has news of the Ballymac GSC's recent trip to the Netherlands and we also have a look at Glentoran Disability FC who had their own trip to England to take part in their first cross channel tournament.  There's details of Tommy "Tucker" McKee's latest fund raising venture and our history men have been delving into the archives once again, Roy Downes with the story of a World War One prisoner of war who played for both Glentoran and Glenavon and
