Everyone at Glentoran Football Club was saddened to hear of the passing yesterday of former player, Matt Doherty. He was 79. We extend our deepest sympathy to Matt’s wife Ann, son Matt, daughter-in-law Oonagh and grandchildren Kiernan and Brandon. You are all in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
Matt Doherty’s funeral will leave his home (34 Dunmore Gardens) on Friday morning at 9:20am to St. Mary's Church Creggan for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Interment afterwards is in The City Cemetery.
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of lifelong Glenman and former Director, Mr Jim Hawkes.
Jim worked for many years as a milkman for the Co-Op Dairy, before acquiring the London Bar in East Belfast and renaming it the Longfellow after his hero Lester Piggott.
The 2019/20 season sees the formation of our new exclusive Mini Cougars Club. We are inviting kids between the ages of 6 and 12 to join us. The kids (8 per match and chosen on rota basis depending on how many members) will be providing a guard of honour at every home match as the teams walk out for kick off.

We are delighted to announce that John Herron has committed himself to the club by signing a new contract this weekend.

Glentoran have added two Croatian players to the squad ahead of the new season, goalkeeper Marijan Antolovic (30) and midfielder Hrvoje Plum (25).
Both previously played for NK Osijek.

We are delighted to announce that Elliott Morris has agreed to accept a new role as Goalkeeper Coach role with the club while remaining a member of the first team squad.
Elliott, who has made 731 first team appearances and won no fewer than 13 trophies in his 17 seasons at Glentoran, was welcomed onto the coaching team by Head Coach Mick McDermott:
Glentoran Football Club has today confirmed the completion of a major investment by a UK-based consortium, led by Welshman Ali Pour, marking what it says will bring “a new era” for the club.
A restructure of the company will now be implemented as agreed, enabling Head Coach Mick McDermott to strengthen the team ahead of the new season.
