The manager, players and directors of Glentoran were warmly welcomed on Saturday night to the Ballymac Glentoran Supporters Club Dinner at the Ballymac clubrooms.
Winners of the main awards were Curtis Allen (Player of the Year) and Tiarnan McAuley (Young Player of the Year). Both players were presented with their awards by Thomas Sewell, Chairman of the Ballymac. Long standing Ballymac member Gary Cowan was presented with the annual Special Merit Award for his years’ service to both the Ballymac and his lifelong support of the Glens.
This season, each month there will be a Glentoran Player Of The Month, voted on by Glentoran supporters.
The poll will appear following the last game of each calendar month and the winner announced on this website early the following month. Just place your vote beside your choice. Voting closes at 11.59pm on Saturday 30th September with the winner announced the following day.
The draw for the 2017-18 shirt sponsors took place today in the McLean Suite yesterday.

Glentoran continued their strong start to the season with a draw against league leaders Coleraine. Both sides had chances to win the game, with the Glens missing a 95th minute penalty against the ten men of Coleraine.

Glentoran v Coleraine
Saturday 23rd September, 3pm.
This Saturday we face another significant test as we entertain undefeated league leaders, Coleraine.
Glentoran welcomed Crumlin Star to the Oval for a County Antrim Shield 1st Round tie on Tuesday night and ran out 4-2 winners. The visitors are the current NAFL Premiership Champions and whilst Glentoran dominated the first 45, the amateur league side gave a good account of themselves in the second half, testing the youthful Glentoran side. Gary Haveron made 11 changes from the side which worked hard in overcoming Ballymena at the weekend but the side he fielded did not lack first team experience, particularly in the middle of the park.
