Glentoran Seconds meet Linfield Swifts in the semi-final of the George Wilson Cup at the Oval on Thursday night.
The two sides met three times in the Reserve League this season with the Seconds winning the first encounter 3-2 at the Oval in September. In late December the Swifts won 2-nil at Midgely Park but when the sides met at the same venue on 22nd February, the Seconds ran out 5-nil winners.
Admission to the game is £3 with all monies (after match expenses) raised going directly to the Seconds to fund equipment & medical supplies for next season.
Last night was the End of Season Dinner at the Oval. A great meal, entertainment and player awards all made it a great and memorable night. Check below for photos of players awards. Photo requests can be sent to webmanager@glentoran.com
Glentoran finished the season with three straight wins after leaving Shamrock Park with all three points this afternoon. Unsurprisingly Eddie Patterson named an unchanged starting XI after the impressive performance at Windsor Park on Easter Tuesday. While the game was something of a dead rubber for both sides in terms of League positions it was a special afternoon for Jason Hill as the popular full back made his 327th and final appearance for Glentoran before retirement.
Glentoran FC has today received notification from the IFA that both domestic and European licences have been granted for the coming season. The Club is indebted to the volunteers who put in many hours of work in order to ensure that our applications were successful.
