When the two sides met earlier in the season at Ferney Park it was scoreless at the interval with Glentoran then going on to out-score the home side in the second half by 3 goal. Today we had a repeat, although instead of a 4-1 win, on this occasion it was 3-0.

Well done to U16's who have won the National League B division. The U16's were undefeated in the League all season and are currently in the quarter-final and semi-final of the 2 main cups.
It’s back to Danske Bank Premiership action on Saturday as Glentoran travel to Co Fermanagh to face Ballinamallard United. Whilst there remains a great deal of disappointment around the club following last Monday night’s Irish Cup defeat to Glenavon, the cup is now gone and Glentoran need to focus on finishing in as high a position as possible in the Premier League.
Glentoran's Irish Cup hopes and dreams were dramatically destroyed last night in the most agonising way with 88th and 90th minute Glenavon goals cancelling out Jay Magee's first half penalty. Manager Eddie Patterson was working with the true bare bones of his squad; Calum Birney (injury), Jason Hill (injury), Fra McCaffery (ineligible), Danny McKee (ineligible), Willie Garrett (suspended) and Mark Clarke (suspended) all unavailable, as well as long-term absentees Marcus Kane and David Howland.
Glentoran and Glenavon meet at the Oval on Monday evening with a place in the semi-final of the Irish Cup the prize for the winners. Both sides had victories over the weekend, both scoring 3 goals in the process.

One player's misfortune can be another player's opportunity. It's a football cliche but it was certainly true tonight as a much changed and youthful Glentoran side swept aside Ballymena United for a deserved win at the Oval.
Glentoran face Ballymena United at the Oval on Friday night needing a win to strengthen their grip on a top six place. The Glens, currently fifth in the Danske Bank Premiership, could be overtaken by the Sky Blues if they lose this game.
The two sides have met twice already this season. The first meeting at the Oval was a 0-0 draw. The second meeting at the Ballymena Showgrounds was a much more exciting affair with the Glens winning 4-3 (see the action from that game on BBC Sport NI HERE).
We welcome Ballymena United Directors, players and fans to East Belfast on Friday night and hopefully we can put on a performance and start building a bit of momentum towards to the end of the season.
The Premier Lounge will be open from 6:30pm and we will have live coverage of the Match on all screens from 7:45pm.
The Lounge will remain open after the game until 12 midnight and all Glentoran fans are welcome to join us after the match for a few drinks.

Despite recent speculation, Glentoran Football Club confirms that at present no employee of the club has been charged with a criminal offence relating to illegal drugs.
Glentoran is a local football club with a long standing link to and participation in the broader community. The club has since 1882 had an absolute and ongoing commitment to youth development in football. As such the club has a zero tolerance approach to illegal drugs in any form. The club will always act in accordance with those principles.
