Castlereagh GSC Charity Night

Castlereagh Glentoran Supporters Club Member and Past Chairman Jim Douglas has organised a fundraising night on Friday November 28th in aid of the Ulster Hospital's MacDermott Ward, to be hosted by Castlereagh GSC. The MacDermott Ward looked after Jim while he was undergoing treatment for cancer.

Glentoran’s 2-1 victory against Institute at the Oval saw them climb to 6th in the Danske Bank Premiership table. Jay Magee gave the Glens the lead in the first half before Steven Gordon, with his first goal for the club, made it 2-nil. Robbie Hume pulled a goal back for the visitors in the final minute.

Glentoran face Institute at the Oval on Saturday looking to build on the excellent performance against Linfield last Saturday. Manager, Eddie Patterson is still without long-term absentee David Howland whilst Jim O'Hanlon (thigh) and Willie Garrett (ankle) are still unavailable through injury. He will give late fitness checks to both Marcus Kane and Steven Gordon but everyone else is available for selection.

The two teams met earlier this season, playing out a 1-1 draw at Drumahoe on 20th September.

We welcome Institute to East Belfast for the first time this season and we will be looking to build on last week's performance against Linfield.

The Premier Lounge will open at 12.30pm as usual and, after a special request from members, we will have live coverage of Hearts v Rangers from the Scottish Championship at 12.45pm. We will then have live exclusive coverage of Glentoran v Institute at 3pm and we finish the afternoon with live coverage of Arsenal v Man Utd (KO 5.30pm).

Crystal Palace trials

The success of Glentoran’s Academy continues to go from strength to strength. In what has already been a record-breaking season for the club in terms of trials and international selections, we are delighted to announce that two U16 Academy players have been offered a week long trial with Crystal Palace commencing on 24th November. These trial offers come just a short while after the Academy being so well represented in the recent Northern Ireland Victory Shield squad which defeated Scotland.

200 Club Draw

This month's 200 Club draw will take place this Saturday at half time at our match against Institute. 

Any member who still has not paid for this month's draw can do so up until 2pm on Saturday. Ruth will have the Superstore open on Thursday evening, otherwise please pay directly into the bank. If you need the bank details, please contact us by email on commercial@glentoran.com.

Glentoran came from behind twice at Windsor Park on Saturday as a late, late Jonny Addis goal earned Eddie Patterson's side a well deserved draw. Patterson used his usual 4-5-1 system with Curtis Allen supported by David Scullion and Jordan Stewart, whilst Fra McCaffrey returned to the starting line up in midfield and Marcus Kane overcame a toe injury to start at left-back.
