Coaching Staff
Following a meeting this afternoon our Assistant Manager Tiernan Lynch and First Team Coach Seamus Lynch have left the club by mutual consent.
Glentoran FC would like to thank Tiernan and Seamus for their service, particularly their important contribution to the tactical preparation for our Irish Cup victories in 2013 and 2015. We wish Tiernan and Seamus all the very best for their futures in football and beyond.
Ballymena United 4-1 Glentoran
Glentoran, majestic in the first half, conceded 4 second half goals in the second at the Ballymena Showgrounds this afternoon. It was, as the old football cliche goes, a game of two halves and Ballymena United ended up deserved winners; their first league victory over the Glens at the Showgrounds for almost a decade!
Shield Draw
Glentoran will face Crusaders at the Oval in the quarter final of the Toals Co Antrim Shield.
The game will be played on Tuesday 25th October 2016, kick-off 7:45pm.

Ballymena United v Glentoran
Looking at results over the past 3 seasons in games between the teams in the Danske Bank Premiership, Glentoran have had the better of things with 6 wins, 2 draws and just 1 defeat in the 9 meetings.
The 2013-14 season sat the opening game at the Oval finish scoreless with Glentoran winning the other two; 4-3 at the Showgrounds in November 2013 and 3-0 at the Oval in March 2014.

Facing another knockout evening match against lower league opponents, it was a night when the travelling fans questioned if it could possibly go wrong again.
The teams were welcomed out to a dry pleasant evening by a smallish crowd. There were three changes in the Glentoran starting line up from Saturday, with Curtis Allen, Stevie Gordon and James Ferrin all getting the nod from the Gaffer.

Glentoran face Linfield in the Danske Bank Premiership on Saturday 1st October 2016 at the Oval, kick-off 3pm.
This is an ALL TICKET fixture.
Adult tickets for the Main Grandstand (Upper Deck), Main Grandstand (Lower Deck) and Sydenham Terrace will be available at all of our ticket outlets from 6pm tonight (Monday 19th September).
A small number of concession tickets remain. These can only be purchased from the Glentoran Superstore at the Oval during normal opening hours.
Glentoran 1-3 Crusaders
Glentoran’s winless run continued on Saturday as League Champions Crusaders recorded a comfortable 3-1 victory at The Oval. Roy Coyle, still in Temporary charge made one change to the team that drew with Glenavon on Tuesday as he brought Alex Leu in for the injured Nacho Novo, the Spaniard missing out with a groin problem. Stephen Baxter brought his side to East Belfast sitting top of the table and unbeaten in their last 5 trips to The Oval.
