Match Preview

Sat, 11/01/2014 - 12:25

The Glens travel to Shamrock Park looking for their first win against the mid-Ulster side this season. The teams have met three times in the Danske Bank Premiership with the Ports winning 2-1 in late September and 2-0 at the Oval in early December. Last week's game, again at the Oval, finished 2-2.

Glentoran's last win against Ronnie McFall's side was last year's Irish Cup semi-final game at the Oval; Marcus Kane getting a late winner.

EUSEBIO

Sun, 05/01/2014 - 20:24

He was, without doubt, the greatest ever player to grace the Oval pitch in a competitive game.

Eusebio da Silva Ferreira was the focal point of the superb Benfica team from the 1960's and the main reason that 40,000 people packed the Oval on Wednesday 13th September 1967. John Colrain's Glentoran side had just returned from their highly successful North American tour and the squad were at their peak.

Sat, 04/01/2014 - 18:34

The dress rehearsal for next Saturday's big Irish Cup 5th round tie at Shamrock Park saw Glentoran leave it until added time to equalise after Portadown came from behind in an eventful encounter in east Belfast.

This week's Gazette

Fri, 03/01/2014 - 20:48

It's the first game at the Oval in 2014 and that means it's the first Glentoran Gazette of the New Year too.

And although it may be a new dawn, nothing much has changed here as you'll find another must-read edition of your award winning matchday programme.

In this issue we have a look at Glentoran Community Trust's painstaking replicating of supporters' clubs badges and feature a number of festive photos in our Home & Away picture section.
