Glentoran 2006 team capped a fantastic comeback in the Northern Ireland Supercup today, to qualify for the final with a 1-0 over Finn Harps.
The Story So Far:
The boys got off to a shaky start on day one of the tournament, losing 2-1 to Bertie Peacock against the run of play. This really put the Glens up against it as it usually takes three wins to top a Supercup group. Only first place in the group make the super cup proper.
Brendan Hamilton scored the goal in that match.
Glentoran Women missed their chance to return to the top of the Danske Bank Women's Premiership tonight as a late equaliser by Cliftonville cancelled out Rachel Rogan's opener. The Glens are now 2 points behind Linfield as we enter the latter stages of the campaign.

The club has completed the signing of former Drogheda United and St Patrick’s Athletic left winger and Republic of Ireland U19 player, Thomas Byrne.
Thomas (20) was a youth player with Brighton but has spent the past 2 years in the League of Ireland, where he was considered to be a very hot prospect with the potential to return to cross channel football. He played pre-season for Glenavon but picked the Glens after appearing in our recent friendly wins over Ballyclare Comrades, Knockbreda and PSNI.
Glentoran FC is delighted to announce the signing of defender Patrick McClean, pending a medical to be undertaken early next week.
Patrick (22) spent last season with his hometown club, Derry City. Prior to his time at the Brandywell, he captained Waterford to promotion from the League of Ireland First Division in 2017 and had a year in the Premier League with Sligo Rovers before returning to Derry City, where he had been a youth team player. He had been approached to sign for Cliftonville but elected to join the Glens after meeting Mick McDermott and Paul Millar.
Ricky Rea has been appointed to the position of full time Club Secretary at Glentoran FC. Ricky – a lifelong Glentoran supporter and a founder of the North Down GSC - has fulfilled the role on a part-time volunteer basis for the past six years but as the club moves in the direction of full-time football, the Board of Directors decided that a full time Secretary was a vital component of a professional club.
Two second half goals from Kerry Beattie secured a 2-1 win over Crusaders in tonight's Toals' County Antrim Cup Final at Seaview. The Glens played for the last 30 minutes with only 10 players after skipper Jess Foy was adjudged to have handled in the area to concede a penalty that allowed Crusaders to equalise Beattie's opener.
Remarkably tonight's victory means that the Glens are currently holders of all three domestic knockout cups after previous final wins over Sion Swifts and Linfield.
