Glentoran travel to Ferney Park to face Ballinamallard Utd in the Danske Bank Premiership.

The two sides drew 1-1 at the Oval earlier in the season to earn Gary Haveron his first point as Glentoran manager and Haveron will be looking to maintain his unbeaten away league record since taking over the Glens job.

Today he welcomes back Calum Birney after a one match suspension but left back, Ross Redman sits this game out having picked up sufficient yellow cards to warrant a one game ban.

We are delighted to announce that Glentoran Academy is a finalist in the inaugural Eastside Awards.

Glentoran Academy is a one of three finalists in the category devoted to Contribution to Sport (sponsored by Charles Hurst and Fleet Financial).

Glentoran 2-3 Ballymena Utd

Sat, 10/12/2016 - 21:08

On what was an exceptionally mild December afternoon, and following last Saturday's entertaining game against Crusaders, the Oval seemed the obvious destination to avoid the pre-Christmas rush.

Chris Lavery started the game, with James Ferrin moving into defence to replace the suspended Calum Birney.

Glentoran face Ballymena United at the Oval on Saturday looking to build on last weekend’s very encouraging performance against Danske Bank Premiership leaders, Crusaders. Over the past few seasons the teams have met 10 times with Glentoran’s record showing 6 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats. One of those defeats came earlier this season and ironically the team produced their best 45 minutes of football of the season.

Crusaders 2-2 Glentoran

Sat, 03/12/2016 - 22:06

Glentoran secured a hard fought point at Seaview on Saturday thanks to a Curtis Allen brace.  After a minute's silence was held for the victims of the Colombian plane crash that claimed the lives of many players and staff from Brazilian side Chapecoense, it was Crusaders who started brighter.  Just a minute had passed since kick-off and Michael Carvill flashed an effort just wide of the upright.  Carvill should've scored two minutes later too, as he found himself one on one with Elliott Morris, but luckily for the Glens it was the latter who came out on top.
