Glens through to quarter-final

Sat, 09/02/2013 - 18:45

Two goals down inside 10 minutes wasn't exactly what the Glentoran team, management or supporters had expected at Clandeboye Park this afternoon however the players turned it around and hit five goals of their own to book their place in the quarter-final on the 2013 Irish Cup.

With two central defenders ruled out of today’s game, Jay Magee suspended and Calum Birney through injury, skipper Colin Nixon was back in the starting XI as the Glens travelled to Clandeboye Park to face Bangor in the 2013 Irish Cup.

Glentoran Cup run continues at Bangor

Fri, 08/02/2013 - 16:59

Tomorrow sees Glentoran travel the short distance to Bangor for the Irish Cup 6th round tie. Following another postponed game on Tuesday night, the Glentoran squad should be fresh for another important fixture for the club. With it being 8 years since Glentoran were in an Irish Cup Final, Eddie Patterson's side will no doubt be aiming for that as the principle target for the remainder of the season alongside finishing as high up the league table.

Glens search for momentum against Dungannon

Mon, 04/02/2013 - 16:07

After Saturday's brilliant 1-0 win at Shamrock Park against Portadown, Glentoran will be searching for momentum as we face Dungannon Swifts in a re-arranged game at The Oval on Tuesday night. Following Saturday's result, Glentoran have opened up a gap in the top 6 with Portadown falling 4 points behind us. The result also paves the way for a surge for the European positions as we look to overtake Coleraine and Ballinamallard around us.
