Sat, 15/08/2015 - 17:38

Glentoran remain without a win in the Premiership after being held to a 1-1 draw by Carrick Rangers at Taylor’s Avenue this afternoon.  After his red card in Wednesday night’s game against Crusaders Elliott Morris was serving an automatic suspension so Aaron Hogg took the goalkeeper’s jersey and manager Eddie Patterson brought Jonny Addis in to centre back with Jay Magee dropping to the bench.

Sponsored Walk to Carrick

Thu, 13/08/2015 - 22:08

Colin Davidson is a Newtownabbey based Glenman who has been a member of the Raven GSC for 20 years.

After listening to the great unnoticed work that goes on at the Glentoran Academy and the release of the favourable fixture list (away to Carrick Rangers in August), Colin decided to do a 10 mile sponsored walk to Carrick to raise funds for 2 much needed causes; the Glentoran Academy and Disability Sport NI. To that end if anyone would care to sponsor Colin please click on the link below, see him at an upcoming match or in Carrick on the day.

Glentoran 2-2 Crusaders

Thu, 13/08/2015 - 10:52

In a game that had everything at the Oval on Wednesday night, Glentoran and Crusaders played out an enthralling 2-2 draw that included one of the best goals ever to grace the hallowed east Belfast turf. After what can only be described as a shockingly bad performance against Coleraine on Saturday, manager Eddie Patterson made several changes to the starting line-up with Barry Holland, David Scullion, Kym Nelson and Conor McMenamin all coming in to a 4-4-2 formation.

Coleraine 1-0 Glentoran

Sun, 09/08/2015 - 14:48

Glentoran's Danske Bank Premiership campaign got off to a poor start with a 1-nil defeat at Coleraine. It might have been different had referee Hetherington awarded the Glens a penalty in the opening minute when Curtis Allen went down in the area under a challenge from David Ogilby but the official waved away the appeals. On 7 minutes Elliott Morris made a fine save, tipping Garth Falconer's 25 yard effort over the bar. Glentoran were restricted to half chances by both a resolute Coleraine back line and by some very poor passing.
