On Wednesday 5th August, Belfast's Lord Mayor, Councillor Arder Carson, held a reception in the City Hall in recognition of Glentoran's Irish Cup win.
The reception was attended by Glentoran President, David Chick, Chairman Stephen Henderson, members of the board, club officials, staff and players. A number of representatives from various political parties were also in attendance.
The Alliance Party's Mervyn Jones made the original proposal at a recent council meeting for Glentoran's Irish Cup success to be recognised.
