Coleraine v Glentoran

Fri, 07/08/2015 - 21:56

The 2015-16 Danske Bank Premiership gets underway on Saturday and Glentoran's campaign starts with a trip to the Coleraine Showgrounds.

In the past 3 seasons the two clubs have met 10 times in the Premiership with both winning 2 games each. The other 6 games have been drawn.

During the 2014-15 league campaign Glentoran and Coleraine each recorded 1 win. The Glens victory came in September 2014 when goals from Howard Beverland (og) and David Scullion gave the home side the points at the Oval. In mid-October the Bannsiders got their revenge when a goal from Parkhill decided the game at Ballycastle Road. The last meeting between the clubs came on 21st February 2015 when a late equaliser from McCauley cancelled out Stevie Gordon's goal for Glentoran.

Glentoran's last victory at the Coleraine Showgrounds was on 19th October 2013. On that occasion the Glens came from a goal behind to win 3-1. Jordan Stewart made his first starting appearance for the club in that fixture and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Glentoran's goals were scored by Jim O'Hanlon, Mark Miskimmin and John McGuigan.
