International call for Nathan

Glentoran full back Nathan Kerr has received  his first call up to the Northern Ireland Under 21 squad and is one of only two NIFL Premiership players selected for a strong squad to face Luxembourg and Spain. Nathan (20) has previously represented his county at U16, U17 and U19 level.

Young Glens players go on loan

Young Glens players Karl Hamill and Patrick Cafolla (both 20) have joined Bluefin Sport Championship clubs on loan.

Karl joins H&W Welders while Paddy returns to Knockbreda where he and Karl had a successful season long loan in 2017/18.

We wish both players the best for their loans and look forward to seeing them back at the Oval.

 

 

 

Glentoran 3-2 Larne

An extra-time winner from Dylan Davidson saw Glentoran advance to the Third round of the Bet McLean League Cup, seeing off Championship big spenders Larne at The Oval on Tuesday night. Davidson’s winner was enough to separate the sides after an entertaining game which also saw Robbie McDaid and Marcus Kane on target for the Glens, those goals coming in between Darren Stuart and Chris Ramsey goals for the visitors.

John Herron, Welcome to Glentoran

Glentoran is pleased to announce the signing of John Herron.

John is a Scottish U21 centre midfielder who previously played for Celtic, Blackpool, Dunfermline Athletic (loan) and Raith Rovers. John was recommended by Hibernian Manager and former Northern Ireland captain Neil Lennon who gave John a number of first team games at Celtic, and by former Dundee Manager Jim Duffy.

Glentoran Legends Match for Kodi’s Krew!

Glentoran Legends will play Glentoran Academy coaches in aid of little Kodi Brown who is undergoing lifesaving treatment for a brain tumour.

You may have seen our post here before about Kodi Brown, the sister of one of our young Academy players, Blake Brown who plays for our U10s team. Kodi was sadly diagnosed with a brain tumour. She is presently in Germany receiving ground breaking treatment not available in the UK.

Home 18/19 Launch Tonight! (24th)

After yesterdays disappointment, we have worked until the early hours to move heaven and earth and get the kit into supporters hands ASAP. We are pleased to announce that the 18/19 Home kit will be available to buy between 4pm - 7:30pm TONIGHT!

We apologise for the short opening hours, superstore staff are catching a flight on holiday straight after the launch.

Pre-orders can also be collected tonight between these times.

Jimmy McIlroy MBE 1931-2018

Glentoran Football Club wishes to pay its respects to Northern Ireland legend Jimmy McIlroy who died in Burnley and to offer sincere condolences to the family circle.

Jimmy started his playing career as a boy with Glentoran. He played for the first team between 1949-1950 making 18 appearances and scoring 8 goals before moving to Burnley, where he is widely regarded as that club's greatest ever player.
