As previously noted on Glentoran.com Glentoran Academy have 15 players in this seasons Milk Cup and throughout the week we hope to bring you some details on all the boys.

The photograph shown here is of our County Antrim Junior representatives, Paul O'Neill, Caolan Boydmunce, Ethan Galbraith and Jospeh McMullan.

All four played yesterday in a 3-0 win against North Dublin Schools in the opening game of the tournament with Galbraith bagging two goals! (Remember Ethan is playing up a year as well!)

Obituary - Ken Moody

Mon, 27/07/2015 - 22:00

The officers and members of Castlereagh Glentoran Supporter's Club are deeply saddened at the passing of our President, Ken Moody. Ken was a dedicated Glenman, his wife often noted that he spent more time at his beloved Oval than he did in his own home. He joined the Castlereagh Club in 1972 and served as Chairman during the 1980-81 season.

Dundela 0-2 Glentoran

Fri, 24/07/2015 - 11:48

The Glens recorded a 2-0 win in the annual 'East Belfast Derby' with neighbours Dundela.

Dundela were awarded a penalty in the first half following a foul in the area by Willie Garrett. Keeper, Aaron Hogg saved the spot kick though and Garrett cleared the rebound.

Glentoran were then denied a penalty claim but before the interval Dundela's Scott Collins handled the ball in the area and Glentoran had the chance to open the scoring. Danny McKee stepped up but his strike hit the crossbar and was eventually cleared for a corner.

Lisburn Distillery 0-1 Glentoran

Tue, 21/07/2015 - 22:44

Steven Gordon scored the only goal in tonight's friendly fixture away to Lisburn Distillery. The goal came 20 minutes into the game, Gordon chesting the ball into the net from about a yard out.

It was a game of few chances. Jonny Addis thought he'd doubled Glentoran's advantage before the interval but his goal was ruld out for offside. Addis struck a beautiful shot in the second period too and was desperately unlucky to see the ball hit the inside of the post and run away to safety. Late on Substitute Jim O'Hanlon brought an excellent save out of the Whites' keeper.

Stewart Suspended

Tue, 14/07/2015 - 22:52

Jordan Stewart has been suspended from all club activities for two weeks due to a breach of contract.

Registered players of the club are not allowed to play football for any other club. On Saturday 11th July, Stewart did so. The player recognises that he should not have done this. Whilst he remains a key member of our playing staff and recently committed to a long term contract, those contracts exist to protect both the player and clubs rights.
