Coleraine 1-0 Glentoran

Sun, 09/08/2015 - 14:48

Glentoran's Danske Bank Premiership campaign got off to a poor start with a 1-nil defeat at Coleraine. It might have been different had referee Hetherington awarded the Glens a penalty in the opening minute when Curtis Allen went down in the area under a challenge from David Ogilby but the official waved away the appeals. On 7 minutes Elliott Morris made a fine save, tipping Garth Falconer's 25 yard effort over the bar. Glentoran were restricted to half chances by both a resolute Coleraine back line and by some very poor passing.

Crusaders 0-1 Glentoran

Sat, 01/08/2015 - 17:55

Glentoran lifted the NI Hospice Charity Shield on Saturday at Solitude after a timid affair was won by a fantastic moment of brilliance from Jordan Stewart. Eddie Patterson, on holiday in Portugal, was not in the dugout so Tiernan Lynch stepped up as manager for the day. The Glens, who most recently defeated Donegal Celtic 2-1 on Tuesday night, named a strong line-up despite players such as Barry Holland, Conor McMenamin and David Howland unavailable for a variety of reasons.

The Pride of the County Down!

Our final installment of Milk Cup introductions is of our most heavily represented team - County Down Juniors.

We had 6 players selected for this squad out of last seasons NIBFA cup winning 2000s with Goalkeeper Oliver Webber, Team joint Skippers Josh Tipping and Adam McAleenan, last seasons Player of the Year Callum Carson, Flying full back Ross Tharma and the man who opened the scoring in that NIBFA Final Jack Henderson all making the squad.

The Milk Cup- Co Londonderry Representative

Fri, 31/07/2015 - 13:20

The latest in our line of Milk Cup players this year is our only representative from Co. Londonderry - Caolan McBrearty signed for the Glens 2000 a year ago after being named our Player of the Tournament as a guest player in the Foyle Cup of 2014 - the year the wee Glens won the Competition beatinf Donegal Schools in the final at the Brandywell.

Caolan has played a pivotal role for Londonderry this week having starred in midfield in their opening 3-2 win over OC Blues and in their narrow 2-1 defeat to Southampton before helping his County to a 0-0 derby draw with Antrim.
