Glentoran Women 20-0 Mid Ulster Ladies

Sat, 25/05/2024 - 00:36

The Champions hammered out another sign of intent tonight with this very dominant performance at the Blanchflower.

The Glens were 4 up after the first 20 minutes with Kerry Beattie again the one to open the scoring after 5 minutes, her first of 4 in the game. This was followed by strikes from Joely Andrews, Demi Vance (also her first of 4) and Nadene Caldwell. Further goals from Jenna McKearney, Beattie again, an unfortunate own goal from Mid Ulster’s Hannah Turkington, Beattie’s third, Andrews’s second and another from Vance gave the hosts a 10-0 half time lead.

Not surprisingly Head Coach Kim Turner chose to make a few half time substitutions she’ll be delighted that no fewer than 4 of this evening’s outfield subs got on the scoresheet.

First it was Rachel Rogan after 4 minutes on the pitch, the first of 2 from Rogie. Kerry Beattie was next with her last of the evening, followed by Vance again and the first of a double from Kascie Weir, her second coming with 3 minutes to go..

Sofie Keenan and Emily Wilson then made the scoresheet before Megan Neill wrapped things up in the final minute.

If you want to see if the Glens continue this great run of goalscoring form, their next game is in 2 weeks on Friday 7th June when the team travel to play Lisburn Ladies. In the meantime best wishes to our 6 players – Nadene, Demi, Chloe, Joely, Kerry and Emily – who are of with Northern Ireland to face Portugal in a double header of Euro 25 qualifiers.
