Glentoran FC Homeless Appeal 2015

Tue, 29/12/2015 - 11:13

On Sunday 20th December, officials, players and volunteers from Glentoran FC visited several Homeless Shelters in Belfast to distribute the gifts donated by supporters.

Once again we were overwhelmed by the generosity of our fans and would like to thank you all for your donations.

Thank you to Jodie Killops for coordinating this on behalf of the club.

Thank You

Mon, 28/12/2015 - 10:41

Although the result on Boxing Day was not what we would have wanted, it was still very important to the legions of supporters of both Glentoran and Linfield that the match - always the top attended league match in the NIFL season - went ahead. At various stages on Boxing Day this looked like a major challenge so the Chairman and Directors of Glentoran FC would like to thank the following for their exceptional work on the day in getting the game played:

Glens defeated in Boxing Day Fixture

Sat, 26/12/2015 - 23:03

As the morning wore on in East Belfast the chances of today's game going ahead looked less and less likely. However a monumental effort from volunteers, fans, board members and the fire brigade meant that NIFL agreed to postpone kick off by one hour before eventually confirming the 4pm kick off would go ahead. A sell out crowd graced the damp Oval grounds with the difficulty of the conditions clear to see. Patches of the famous grass were left muddy and bare and were sure to prove testing for the players throughout.

Derby Day Display

Thu, 24/12/2015 - 19:58

Gentoran fans will be entertained by our Academy's youngest stars during half-time of the Boxing Day Big Two derby.

Our 4-6 year olds will play two 6-a-side games and will include the great grandsons of club Legends Sammy Lowry and Fred Roberts in the shape of young Max Hawthorne and Matthew Lowry.
The children are great fun to coach and we are sure they will provide a fun filled half time display to keep the fans entertained during the interval.
Your support and encouragement for the little cubs would be most welcome.
