Glentoran staged a bit of a second half fightback at the National Stadium this evening but ended up with nothing to show for their efforts. Yet again slack defending and ill discipline proved costly to the East Belfast side.

Tomorrow evening we cross the city for the second time in a month to face our old rivals Linfield at Windsor Park in the third “Big Two” Danske Bank Premiership match of the season.
Young striker Sean Wallace hit a hat trick as our Under 20s had a comprehensive 7-0 win over Ards at Londinderry Park, Newtownards today. The other Glens scorers were Ben Cushnie, Mal Smith, Janes McCarty and - with his first goal at this level - Corai Quinn.

Gavin (33) is a central defender from Dublin who spent the League of Ireland 2018 season with Derry City. However he is best known for eleven highly successful seasons at Sligo Rovers who he captained to a League Championship, three FAI Cups, a League of Ireland Cup and a Setanta Cup win.. He has also been selected for the Republic of Ireland at U23 level and also for the League of Ireland representative team.

Two late goals saw Glentoran come from behind to claim all 3 points in today's Danske Banke Premiership game.
Manager, Gary Smyth stuck with the same team which won against Institute last Saturday and in the first half Glentoran dominated the game but without creating many real goal scoring chances.
Tickets for our game against Linfield at the National Stadium at Windsor Park on Monday 28th January, kick off 7.45pm, will go on sale from the Superstore tomorrow between 10am and 12.30pm, and then again from 2pm.
Adult price £11 and Concession price £7. Tickets will also be distributed to our ticket outlets over the weekend.

When we last played Newry in September, we did so in third place in the table, in the middle of a nine game unbeaten run and ran out comfortable 4-1 winners with goals from Curtis Allen, Robbie McDaid, Marcus Kane and Dylan Davidson and a Newry reply from our former player Conall Delaney.
