New Board Appointments for GFC 1882

Mon, 11/01/2021 - 23:36

GFC 1882 Limited, the company that represents the interests of the minority shareholders in Glentoran, recently appointed four new Directors from within the Glentoran Family. The new Directors are (left to right above) Colin Davidson, Ruth McCreery, Paul Meadows and Gail Redmond.

Colin Davidson is a lifelong Glenman and long-standing member of the Raven GSC and has joined the board as one of the two statutory Directors nominated by the Glentoran Community Trust. Among his contributions, Colin successfully instigated and has managed the Players’ Fund that has contributed to many new signings for the club over the past four years. Colin has been appointed Supporter Liaison Officer for the club.

Ruth McCreery is one of the best-known faces around the Oval, having successfully managed and grown the Glentoran Superstore for fourteen years. During those years, the Superstore has been a vital source of income for the club. Most recently Ruth has successfully extended the Glentoran brand through her launch of the Modesto range of leisurewear. Ruth is a member of the Internet GSC and will continue to manage the Superstore as part of her new role.

Paul Meadows is a Glentoran Vice President has been a long serving member and Chairman of the Victoria GSC, one of our longest established supporters clubs. Paul has filled a wide range of volunteer riles for Glentoran from barman to a key member of our “Monday Club” group of volunteers who undertake all sorts of odd jobs around the Oval each week. Paul will chair the Glentoran Facilities Committee of key and skilled volunteers.

Gail Redmond is a bona fide legend of Women’s Football in Northern Ireland and her name is synonymous with the successes of Glentoran Women, right up to this season’s Premiership triumph. Gail has been with Glentoran as player then coach for thirteen years, winning sixteen winners’ medals and 25 caps for Northern Ireland. As Coach she has continued her successes uninterrupted. Gail’s appointment reflects the growing importance of Women’s Football to both Glentoran and football in general.

We know these appointments of such committed and dynamic new Directors will be warmly welcomed throughout the Glentoran Family and that their skills will be of great benefit to both GFC 1882 and to Glentoran Football Club.

Other members of the GFC 1882 Board are Stephen Henderson (Chairman), Grahame Jenkins (Grants), Ian Clarke (Media), Colin Jess (Commercial), John Moore (Matchday Safety) and Bill Manson (Community Liaison).

Welcome!
