Glentoran 2-2 Dungannon Swifts

Sat, 31/12/2016 - 21:07

Glentoran produced a lacklustre end to a disappointing year as they threw away a two goal lead at home to Dungannon Swifts on New Year’s Eve. Two second half strikes from Andy Mitchell ensured the home crowd left frustrated after witnessing their side fail to convert a two goal lead for the second home game in a row. Glens’ boss Gary Haveron was forced into 3 changes from the side that drew with Linfield on Boxing Day with Tiernan McAuley, James Ferrin and Ciaran Caldwell replacing Calum Birney, Eric Foley and the suspended Stephen McAlorum.

Glentoran Girls get kitted out

Sat, 31/12/2016 - 14:09

Glentoran Belfast United U15s were grateful to receive their new kits today which have been kindly sponsored by Clip 'n Climb in Dundonald. The girls from the under 15 team and girls from the academy enjoyed a day out at Clip 'n Climb on Friday 30th December.

The under 15 team are playing in the South Belfast Girls League this year and to date have shown the range of talent within the ladies section of our club. The girls continue their matches in January after a break in the league to compete in the Futsal competition.

Linfield 1-1 Glentoran

Tue, 27/12/2016 - 12:18

Glentoran produced one of their best performances of the season to fight back and earn a credible point against South Belfast rivals Linfield in the annual Boxing Day fixture. Glentoran having not won the Big Two festive derby at The National Stadium since 1972 went into the game low on confidence following back to back league defeats to Ballymena and Ballinamallard Utd.

This past week, directors, staff, players, supporters, volunteers & sponsors from Glentoran Football Club went out to the streets and visited several Homeless Shelters in Belfast distributing gifts, once again we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our fans and various local businesses for coming on board this year and we would like to thank you for all donations.

Massive thank you to Jodie Killops for coordinating this on behalf of the club
