The game saw a return to first team action for Willie Garrett after a long injury lay-off and Curtis Allen came back into the side after serving a one match suspension against Crusaders.
Cliftonville v Glentoran
Saturday 16th December, 3pm.
This Saturday we visit Solitude for the first time this season.
Things have changed dramatically since we last played Cliftonville, two months ago. At We went into that game in fifth place, two points ahead of the Reds. That day we were beaten by two goals from Rory Donnelly, one at each end of the match. Since then Cliftonville have moved twelve points ahead of us due to a very strong run of form, allied to our own poor performances since October.
With a reduction of home fixtures during November and December and our last home match being postponed, we have arranged a number of collection points for supporters still wishing to donate to Glentoran's 2017 Homeless Appeal.
We are appealing for food items suitable for food hampers; tea bags, coffee, rice, pasta, pot noodles and pasta sauces.
Also needed are male and female gift sets, particularly male ones. Also selection boxes.
Glentoran Fans travelling by private car to Cliftonville Football Club for the Danske Bank Premier League game (kick off 3pm) on Saturday 16 th December 2017 are requested to park in the residential areas above Solitude off the Cliftonville Road- ie Cardigan Drive and Knutsford Drive etc. Motorists should consider local residents and emergency vehicle access when deciding where and how to park.
