Glentoran Women returned to winning ways on Wednesday evening with a 4-2 victory over Derry City Women in a lively encounter at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.
The Glens took control midway through the first half when captain Jess Foy pounced at the back post to steer home a Demi Vance set-piece. Just four minutes later, Rachel Rogan doubled the lead with a composed finish inside the area after Derry failed to clear another dangerous Glentoran delivery.
The hosts halved the deficit shortly after the restart through Tara O'Connor-Farren, who reacted quickest in the box to turn the ball home. But Glentoran responded instantly, restoring their two-goal advantage as Kascie Weir tapped in after a flowing attacking move.
O’Connor-Farren struck again moments later to bring the Candystripes back into the contest, but the Glens sealed the points on 55 minutes when Rogan coolly converted her second of the night from a pinpoint Faye Loughran through ball.
