Derby Day Display

Thu, 24/12/2015 - 19:58

Gentoran fans will be entertained by our Academy's youngest stars during half-time of the Boxing Day Big Two derby.

Our 4-6 year olds will play two 6-a-side games and will include the great grandsons of club Legends Sammy Lowry and Fred Roberts in the shape of young Max Hawthorne and Matthew Lowry.
The children are great fun to coach and we are sure they will provide a fun filled half time display to keep the fans entertained during the interval.
Your support and encouragement for the little cubs would be most welcome.

Glentoran 2 - 0 Cliftonville

Sat, 19/12/2015 - 17:29

Second half goals from Jonathan Smith and Fra McCaffrey gave Glentoran a vital three points in tight encounter at the Oval this afternoon.  There were a couple of changes from the defeat at Portadown with Barry Holland and captain Stephen McAlorum returning to the side after suspension.

Match Preview

Fri, 18/12/2015 - 22:02

Glentoran kick-off a double header of home league ties as they welcome high-flying Cliftonville at The Oval tomorrow.

The Glens were on the wrong side of a 5-3 score-line as they fell to their sixth defeat of the season on Monday night’s rescheduled game.

A double from Curtis Allen and a strike from Marcus Kane was not enough for the visitors as Portadown claimed victory to close the gap to within three points between the pair.

Homeless Appeal

Wed, 16/12/2015 - 00:30

After last year's very successful 'Homeless Appeal' Glentoran Football Club are once again organizing a collection for the local Homeless Community. This Saturday's home fixture against Cliftonville will be your last chance to donate items.

Portadown 5-3 Glentoran

Tue, 15/12/2015 - 09:06

48 hours later than planned, Glentoran travelled to Shamrock Park and came out on the wrong end of a 5-3 scoreline. The game was, of course, postponed on Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch but the Shamrock Park surface had recovered well from the weekend’s deluge and whilst sticky & bumpy, remained playable throughout. Glentoran came into the game on a high having seen off Ballinamallard and Glenavon in their last two games whilst the Ports have also shown signs of resurgence recently and were fresh from a 16 day layoff since beating Linfield 2-0.

Match Preview

Mon, 14/12/2015 - 09:58

Portadown v Glentoran - Monday 14th December 2015 - Kick-off 7:45pm at Shamrock Park.

Alan Kernaghan will be hoping his team’s form in front of goal continues for tonight’s game with Portadown; the game having been rescheduled following Saturday's postponement.

The Glens thumped four past Ballinamallard Utd last week to secure the new manager’s first away win in charge.

Fra McCaffrey scored a double, while Curtis Allen and Jonathan Smith also got their name on the scoresheet to condemn Whitey Anderson’s men to their fifth league defeat in a row.
